Summary: Housing design awards is an open call for design awards of the housing projects, that must have been completed between January 1, 2014 and December 21, 2020. This is an international open call and anyone is eligible to submit. Projects by New England and New York City design professionals may be located anywhere. Projects by others must be located in New England or New York City.
Description: Projects with more than four units—including new construction or rehabilitation of private-sector or public-sector projects—are eligible. Housing projects anywhere in the world may be submitted if the architect/firm currently resides in New England or New York City. Any architect anywhere in the world may submit projects located in New England or New York City. Judging criteria will be based on the AIA Framework for Design Excellence. The jury is encouraged to determine the extent to which design excellence is defined by aesthetic, functional, contextual, sustainable, social or other characteristics such as “livability.” The jury may elect to honor projects by building type or other categories or they may choose to make no such distinctions.
This program is co-organized by the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) and AIANY Housing Committee.
